Welcome to the traditional Christmas market in Trondheim.
A magical Christmas festival in the heart of Trondheim.

The Christmas Market in Trondheim takes place at the market square in December every year. Here you will find an exciting market with quality crafts, Christmas food and trees. Experience concerts, theatre and horse and sleigh rides. And in the lavvo you can enjoy local food and beverage by the fire, while listening to troubadours and folk tales.

Experience the beautiful blue hour, “den blå timen”. It gives everything outdoors a magical blue glow. Combined with the decorated stalls and thousands of small lights, it is like stepping into a Norwegian fairy tale.

The Christmas Market was held for the first time in 2003, with only 5 stalls. Today, the market consists of over 80 exhibitors and 130 cultural events.

Welcome to a market where you will find the true Christmas spirit, entertainment and gifts you can not find in ordinary shops.

Streets glimmering with Christmas lights, a Christmas market that conveys the fragrances of holiday relaxation and coziness. A sprinkle of snow has finally made the setting perfect with the Christmas spirit you have longed for. It is almost like taking part in a fairy tale.” – Tone Sofie Aglen, Adresseavisen, the regional newspaper, with headquarters in Trondheim. Translated from the text “Byen i eventyret” (The town in the fairy tale).

If you wish to experience local customs and the warm, fuzzy feeling of Christmas celebration you´ve seen in the movies, a trip downtown during these days is very recommended." - Anders Påsche, The List.

The Christmas market in Trondheim has a marvellous atmosphere and lots of nice people. For me, The Christmas market is all about the food. I love The Farmer´s Market. I could easily visit This part of the market each of the ten days it is open for business. What I can´t find in my own store, I will find there. Kjersti Eriksen, Norli bookstore, Nordre gate.
