Choir Concert: Embla

Embla is a ladies choir with 22 singers, founded by Norunn Illevold Giske and originated in the choir-scene at the institute of music at NTNU in Trondheim. The choir today is independent from NTNU and has a larger background in both age and artist background. Even so, a large amount of the members have a higher education in music, and work as conductors, singers, musicians, educators or with administration of culture and music. The repertoire of the choir embraces a wide array of genres, although their roots are in classical music. One of their main focuses is to highlight new female choir music. They are constantly having new works written by local, national and international writers, but also wish to manage the classical choir tradition.
